Trump and Biden

Trump and Biden

Well, I watched the debate last night and You know Trump is not a great debater. He's a brawler. He uses the bludgeon rather than the rapier. But on the other hand, on this occasion he used the bludgeon very effectively, and frankly he showed a lot of discipline not being drawn into a lot of subjects that would be difficult for him to fight his way out of.

As one corpse to another I feel sorry for Biden, and I feel sorry for the Democrats and I know what their problem is. Their problem is that, you know, they're systematically more emotional people than Republicans are. VDARE has published articles on that. The second thing is they really do believe their own propaganda, and so they convince themselves that Joe Biden is in perfectly fine shape and there's no reason why he can't do this long debate and Joe Biden himself has convinced himself that all kinds of things are wonderful under his watch and that the Border Patrol has endorsed him and that illegal border crossing is down 40 percent, which is completely and ludicrously absurd.

But he wants to believe it, so he does.

Now from the immigration point of view, and that's what we're really interested in, this debate had some good points and some bad points. The good point is that immigration did come up or more accurately Trump kept raising it. He kept raising the collapse of the southern border and this tremendous absolutely unprecedented influx of illegals into the country and also the impact it's having on government services. He mentioned specifically Social Security.

This thing is going to really damage Americans' living stands in various ways and he's hammering that home and it's good that he's hammering it home because even now people don't realize what's happening at the southern border. I have personal experience of this.

My father-in-law in Texas was talking to a Republican lawyer there in Dallas, and he had absolutely no idea how bad the situation was on the southern border because of course he's entirely dependent on the Wall Street Journal and CBS News. Possibly Fox News. And he just simply didn't know what was going on because they're not reporting it.

Well Trump really rammed it home and that was that was very good The bad news of course is that nothing was said about legal immigration and the need to cut it. In fact, I was actually quite worried going into this debate that Biden's handlers would turn to attack Trump on his ludicrous endorsement of this longtime libertarian idea of pinning a green card to every foreign student's diploma and Basically overwhelming the workforce with millions of Indians and Chinese. Biden could easily have said that because that's well inside the the labor union tradition of immigration restriction, which of course in recent years been abandoned. It would be intensely embarrassing to Trump. And it's what George Bush did to John Kerry.

Bush was very lax on immigration and opened the borders to a considerable extent. But on the debate stage he attacked Kerry for being too weak on immigration. He was only able to do it of course because they had completely compliant mainstream media and the internet hadn't got going to the extent that it now has. Biden didn't do that, probably because he's planning to do the same thing himself, or more accurately I think, and I think this is a general truth about the political class. He just didn't know about it. They just don't think very much about immigration at all. They just know the donors like it. The ethnic groups like it.
It gets them more voters and beyond that They simply don't think about the technical issues in the least.

Now one of the things that disturbed me about you know, if Trump had a rapier— things he could have raised—is he could have said when he was being asked about mass deportation, which obviously the moderators are trying to bring up, you know images of concentration camps and things, that we know from experience with illegal immigration that if you tighten up enforcement and particularly if you start deportation, most of them leave by themselves of their own volition. That's just what happened in Operation Wetback in the 1950s.

The great bulk of the of the illegal Mexicans who left just just got up and left when they realized that Border Patrol might possibly be deporting them. It's actually what happened during the first Trump administration. As soon as he was elected before he even got into office The immigrant workforce population started to fall because these illegals were self deporting because these illegals were self deporting because of course they they believed that the party was over. The immigrant workforce was contracting very sharply under Trump, even before COVID.

So that's one thing he could have said to alleviate these fears and these constant hints that he's a Nazi and all this kind of thing. Another thing he could have said is that he could have mentioned amnesty We know from experience again in the debates in the aughts that amnesty is one thing that the American people really understand. They know what amnesty is and they hate it.

Just last week, or a week or so ago the Regime amnestied about half a million asylum seekers who come in here pretending to want asylum. Actually, of course, they're all economic migrants and they were just arbitrarily amnestied through executive action. Of course, they should be impeached for it, but you know Republicans don't get to impeach people.

But that's the point that Trump could easily have made if he wasn't wielding this great club around his head instead of looking for a chink in Biden's armor. So from the point of view of the immigration issue this is much better than than what we've seen in the past and it certainly ought to be given the unprecedented influx that we've seen over the southern border in the Biden years. The underlying problem is that people will not know about this unless they go to specialized sources, you know. Because the mainstream media is simply not going to play it up They're going to suppress as much as they possibly can. Which is why I hope you continue listening to these videos.

And finally, I have a unfortunate announcement to make which is that Lydia is making me get my hair cut. So the next time we meet I'll probably be bald.
